What We Collect
No personal data. This site has no accounts, no analytics scripts, no advertising tags, no cookies and no server-side logging of visitor data by us. There is no database of users to breach.
Location & Sensors
When you press Start, your browser requests location and motion access. Those readings are consumed by the page’s JavaScript on your device to compute the bearing and rotate the compass. They are never written to a request, an image URL, a beacon or any other channel — the site’s code contains no transport for them.
The calculations run entirely in your browser, in code you can inspect. Map tiles are requested from CARTO and OpenStreetMap only when you open Map mode; those requests carry your IP address under their own privacy policies, as with any map provider.
What Is Stored Locally
- Display settings — theme, units, bearing format and feedback preferences.
- App cache — downloaded page files, so the tool works without a connection.
Both live in your browser and disappear if you clear site data or uninstall the app. We cannot see or reach either of them.
Third Parties
No third-party scripts run on this site: no Google Analytics, no ad exchanges, no tag managers, no social pixels. The only external requests are optional map tiles (CARTO / OpenStreetMap) when Map mode is open, and they receive only standard HTTP request data such as your IP address.
Children
The service is suitable for all ages and collects nothing from anyone, children included.
Changes to This Policy
If the site ever starts collecting data, this page will say so clearly before that happens. Questions go to thecontact page.
